☁️ PASTEL CLOUD BLEND ☁️

Here’s how I did it: 1. I started out by taping the edges of my painting, because I love clean cut borders. 2. (Left pic) Layered on the blues, blending it into the paper to achieve a sort of gradient. I add pink/red warm tones for the clouds — if you’ve been on a plane and looked out the window, you’ll know that the clouds reflect the sunlight. I topped it up with yellow at the end. 3. Once done with the layers of watercolours (had to be super patient for layers to dry, otherwise they mash up into a muddy sort of brown, which is the worst) I used a small brush to add white acrylic paint to line the clouds and to give a 3D effect. The white (being the brightest part of the painting) should be added as a highlight, the spot where the most light hits! 4. I blended in the white acrylic (adding some water) to the watercolour paint to get a pastel cloud blend. 5. Only when everything was dry, I peeled the masking tape out carefully, pulling it upwards and outwards so it wouldn’t rip my paper. DONE! ✨ (see story/highlights for videos) P.S.
