Hum.

After numerous rejected drafts, this birdy makes the cut! My first few hummingbirds either had the wrong shape, colours or had ugly, solid wings. It was frustrating to stop pushing forward and to accept that I just had to redraw. Sometimes ego wants us to stubbornly believe "it could work" after trying so hard for so long. And when you try but fail, it dampens your mood so much you just feel like giving it up and ridding yourself the bitter taste of failure. Don't we all, as humans, much prefer not to confront an uncomfortable feeling? There aren't any shortcuts to perfecting your craft. There will be good days and bad days. But no two ways around it!
